Ideally you should carry your Emergency Contact Sheet with you wherever you go (especially if a member of your family has severe allergies or a complicated medical history) in addition to having it posted in your house.

Don’t Forget
Print out a list of instructions on how to operate electronics (remote controls, air conditioning/heat, water, gas) and your home’s other gadgets and doodads.
Printout/update your Rescue ME sheet and post it.
Notify the neighbors that someone will be staying in your casa.
Leave a set of spare keys to all that needs unlocking.
If you’ve got pets, printout/update your See Spot Checklist and post it.
Leave a list of reminders for the sitter, such as bringing in the trash, collecting mail, paying the cleaning team or dog walker, watering plants, etc., or get yourself a pad of Sit ME sheets and always be prepared.
Provide a backup person for them to call if they have an emergency of their own.
Leave any checks that should be handed out to cleaners, gardeners, dog walkers, etc.
Printout a list of numbers where you can be reached while away.
House Guest
Leave a basket filled with clean towels, a fresh bar of soap, and lotion in the bathroom or their room.
Make the bed with clean sheets.
Stock your kitchen with a few goodies and label them {Name} Eat Me or Drink Me.
Leave some fresh coffee grounds and tea on the counter with directions on how to work your kitchen gadgets.
Clear out a space in the closet and drawer for their clothing.
